Of them, the Audi brand achieved year-over-year growth in retail sales. 

Geely Technology Group, Honbridge Holdings ink deal for bauxite transaction

On January 27, Honbridge Holdings announced that it has signed a bauxite procurement framework agreement with Geely Technology Group, a company affiliated to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. BYD to launch intelligence strategy on Feb. 10

Changan Automobile posts 1.66% YoY dip in Jan. 2025 sales

Hesai, Embotech, Outsight team up to enhance BMW's smart factory automation

LiDAR maker Hesai Technology on Feb. 5 announced its recent strategic partnerships with Swiss autonomous driving solutions provider Embotech AG and French spatial intelligence software developer Outsight. The collaboration aims to integrate Hesai's high-performance LiDAR with Outsight's advanced perception software to enhance Embotech's Automated Vehicle Management (AVM) system, which is currently deployed in BMW's smart factories in Germany for Automated Driving In-Plant. 

Tesla offers limited-time 8000-yuan insurance subsidy on Model 3 in China

On February 5, Tesla announced via its official Weibo account a limited-time insurance subsidy of 8,000 yuan for all locally-made Model 3 variants in China, available until February 28. The promotion also includes a five-year zero-interest financing option. 

Xiaomi EV's monthly deliveries top 20,000 units for 4th month in a row by Jan. 2025

Xiaomi EV delivered over 20,000 units of the SU7 model in January 2025, the fourth month in a row for the model to surpass this delivery mark, according to a post on Xiaomi EV's WeChat account.

Geely rolls off 100,000th unit of Galaxy E5 all-electric SUV

Beijing announces 2025 passenger vehicle quota with expanded new energy vehicle allocations

On January 26, Beijing city's authority unveiled its 2025 passenger vehicle quota allocation and configuration ratios, according to a post on the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport's official WeChat account. The total quota for 2025 is set at 100,000 units—comprising 20,000 ordinary passenger vehicle permits and 80,000 new energy passenger vehicle permits.

SAIC-GM-Wuling boasts 58.9% YoY surge in Jan. 2025 new energy vehicle sales

On February 6, SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW") released its January 2025 sales data, reporting a global total of 106,818 vehicles—an 18.2% increase year-on-year. Notably, new energy vehicle (NEV) sales surged to 55,413 units, up 58.9% from the previous year, underscoring the company's strong momentum in the NEV sector.
