At the ceremony, the first export vehicle, numbered "FAW-Volkswagen Export 000001," drove onto the stage. Chen Bin, Deputy General Manager of FAW Group and General Manager of FAW-Volkswagen, handed the keys to Matthias Ziegler, General Manager of Volkswagen Brand Middle East, symbolizing the official handover.
FAW-Volkswagen described the move as a strategic breakthrough in its overseas business, aligning with China's push for high-level opening-up and supporting regional economic development. It also provides key backing for the global expansion strategies of both shareholders, FAW and Volkswagen.
The company highlighted that exporting complete vehicles to the Middle East represents a "zero-to-one" milestone in its overseas operations and a significant step for China's auto joint ventures going global. To ensure readiness, FAW-Volkswagen adapted multiple models for regional climates, road conditions, and regulatory requirements, while building a full export support system covering technology, production, logistics, and aftersales.
FAW-Volkswagen emphasized that the project, from negotiation and planning to production and delivery, was completed at record speed, showcasing the company's growing capability in global operations.
