Car wholesale added by 150,000 units in June end

Shanghai, July 9 (Gasgoo.com) Due to the sales slump in three months since April, China's carmakers delivered additional wholesale of 152,619 vehicles to their dealers on June 28-30. This alarming wholesale hike in the last three days of June will surely raise the vehicle inventory at their dealerships in July and August as well as their sales pressure, said auto.sina.com today.

According to the latest statistics of the China Passenger Car Association, the sales of most Chinese carmakers were not as brisk as expected and some of them saw their wholesale volumes going down from one year earlier. Industry analysts said that China's auto market slump in June is blamed largely on the May 12 earthquake in Sichuan province, the June flooding in the southern areas and the oil price hike.

In the final three days of June, China's most makers of passenger vehicles added their wholesale to their dealers. Chery Auto topped the wholesale list by 15,215 units, almost 10% of the wholesale total of all the Chinese carmakers in the three days, followed by Shanghai VW (8,033 units), Shanghai GM (7,654 units), FAW VW (6,533 units), Geely Auto (4,604 units), FAW Toyota (3,012 units), Dongfeng Nissan (2,945 units) and Changan Ford (2,164 units).

When their stocks have piled up, the dealers of vehicles by these carmakers are facing greater sales pressures in July and August. One the one hand, many vehicles were not sold out in June due the sliding market, and on the other, more vehicles have been added to the stockpiles. That's why China's auto dealers will have tougher days ahead.
