Dongfeng Nissan sales hit 159,268 units in H1

Shanghai, July 9 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Nissan, a car-making joint venture between China's Dongfeng Motor and Japanese Nissan Motor, said its sales in the first six months totaled 159,268 units, clearly exceeding its sales target for the first half of this year.

In the general market downturn of June, Dongfeng Nissan posted its monthly sales of over 30,000 units, a key figure for evaluating the automaker's market position in the industry. Annual sales of 300,000 units are seen as the threshold for automakers joining the ranks of auto industry leaders.

Dongfeng Nissan, which has struggled into leading passenger carmakers by its 30,000 monthly sales, may well change the competitive pattern of China's auto market in 2008.
