Beijing Auto top executive to head Huatai Auto

Shanghai, July 16 (Gasgoo.com) Tong Zhiyuan, senior executive vice president of Beijing Benz-DaimlerChrysler Automotive Co Ltd (BBDC), will become chairman of Chinese SUV-maker Rongcheng Huatai Automobile Co, according to Chinese media reports

Tong joined BBDC in July 2000 and, since 2005, has been the senior executive vice president and chief engineer of the joint venture, according to a Xinhua news report.

Rongcheng Huatai, a young Chinese SUV manufacturer founded in 2000, mainly builds Terracan and Sante Fe SUV models in China. Annual capacity of the automaker will reach 100,000 units by the end of this year.
