Shanghai, July 16 (Gasgoo.com) FAW Haima Automobile Co., a joint venture of automakers FAW and Mazda, has been approved to produce sedans in its Zhengzhou facility by China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), reported xinhuanet.com yesterday. Haima is expected to launch own-made Fstar (Fushida) series by the year end.

Haima sources said the company is planning to align Haikou plant, Zhengzhou plant and Shanghai R&D (Research and Development) Center to expand in China’s competitive auto market.

Now Haima’s Haikou facility has achieved an annual production capacity of 150,000 units, with 70,000 units for the first plant and 80,000 units for the second plant. Upon completion of the third plant, Haima’s annual capacity will increase to 300,000 units.

Haima said the Haikou plant will build middle-sized cars, while Zhenzhou plant will focus on economical minicars.
