Dongfeng to raise export target to 12,000 units

Shanghai, July 21 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Motor Group Co., will raise its annual export target to 12,000 units thanks to overfulfilled exports in the first half, Beijing News reports today.

The company is looking to export 4,000 units in the second half of this year,bringing the annual exports to 12,000 units, said Liu Yaoping, vice general manager on July 14.

Dongfeng sources said earlier this year Dongfeng targeted to export 9,000 units and strived for 10,000 units in exports annually, but the exports reached 8,017 units just in the first half, up 155.6% year-on-year and completing 80% of the annual target.

The light commercial cars and Cummins engine, two parts of Dongfeng’s leading business, reached 100,000 sales in the first half, fulfilling 60% of the annual target.

Dongfeng exports grew fast in South America and South Asia, up 448% and 365% respectively.
