Honda China raises Acura sales target

Shanghai, July 22 (Gasgoo.com) Japan's Honda Motor (China) Investment Co has raised its 2008 sales target for Acura to 28,000 units from the original 25,000 units based on a fast sales growth in the first half of this year.

In the first six months, Honda's sales in China rose 21.3 percent year-on-year to 186,991 vehicles, including 1,350 Acura vehicles.

Honda China also plans to open 12 new Acura dealers, bringing its total number of Acura dealers in mainland China to 20 by the end of this year. 

On the product side, Zhu Linjie, an executive with the Honda China company, reveals that an all-new 2009 Acura RL will go on sale in the mainland in September with a new model to debut at next April's Shanghai Auto Show.
