Shanghai, July 31 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Nissan's latest data show that the sales of its new-generation Teana had exceeded 8,000 units by July 16, just one month after the new model was launched on June 16. This figure has set a new high in the monthly sales of the Teana brand and is also the biggest first-month-after-launch sales of any Chinese-made mid- to high-end sedan, reported China Youth Daily today.

A top executive of Dongfeng Nissan has attributed the initial sales success of the new Teana to four favorable factors (named DVC980): 1. designed on the excellent D platform that has produced such premium models as Altima, Maxima, and Murano; 2. driven by the VQ engine, one of the world's 10 best engines; 3. equipped with the six-speed manual CVT (continuously variable transmission); and made out of the 980MPa high-strength steel.

Industry experts said that this high sales record of the new Teana indicates that its brand appeal and product quality have both attracted a large group of consumers, and it is sure to become one of the top three mid- to high-end sedans by sales in the Chinese market.
