Dongfeng Motor sales up 30.76% in H1
Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd., a joint venture of Dongfeng Motor Corp. of China and Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. of Japan, produced 389,629 cars and sold 394,141 cars during the first half of 2008, up 25.1% and 30.76% over a year ago.
The Wuhan-based venture also saw its market share in the country rise by 0.71 percentage points over the period.
Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Co., Ltd., an arm of the venture, sold 129,958 cars in H1, up 39.7% year on year. Over 28,000 Tianlong series cars were sold, exceeding its sales volume in the whole year of 2007.
Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Co., another arm of the venture, sold 31,409 cars in June alone and 159,268 cars in H1.
Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd., a flagship subsidiary of the venture, reported over 100,000 light-duty commercial cars and over 100,000 Cummins engines in H1, or 60% of its annual goal for the year.
