Camry H1 China wholesale hits 79,061 units

Shanghai, August 7 (Gasgoo.com) The wholesale data from the China Passenger Car Association show that the Toyota Camry became the best seller of mid- to high-end cars in the first half of this year, with its wholesale reaching 79,061 units, and 71,460 of them fitted with licenses, said sina.com.cn today.

Both the output and sales of the Camry car made by Guangzhou Toyota have topped 300,000 units over two years since it was launched to the Chinese market on June 17, 2006, and Camry has set a new high of sales in China's mid- to high-end sedan market.

The auto market slump in China from January to June led to the low growth in the sales of many carmakers, whose vehicles failed to achieve their sales targets for the period. But Guangzhou Toyota's Camry bucked the trend by its record sales growth and became a highlight of the Chinese auto market.
