BYD AUTO is a subsidiary of BYD Company Ltd., which is a listed company in Hong Kong. BYD Company Ltd. made its debut from less than 30 people in 1995 and became the second largest rechargeable battery producer in the world in 2003.In the same year, BYD Company Ltd. started to set foot in the automotive industry by purchasing the Tsinchuan Automobile Company, which is the basis of BYD AUTO Company (Ltd).Now, BYD Company Ltd. owns more than 40,000 staff members all over the world with its market value over HKD 15 Billion.

BYD AUTO Institute, with a population of more than 3100, is in charge of the R&D of the fuel vehicle. Acting as a bridge connecting all the vehicle divisions in BYD and bearing the responsibility to design and develop new models, its main activity is to design the whole car. Till now, it has already developed as many as 8 models.

BYD AUTO has the first-class vehicle inspection center; any model has already been inspected in the simulated situation before its delivery to the market with regard to the fuel economy, smog, anti-dust, water outleting, High/low temperature and etc. The vehicle can turn around for testing the Hertzian waves impulse from any direction in the EMC laboratory. The other labs include the road simulation testing one, impact and crash testing one and another 40 ones.
