China's export of mechanic and electronic products to accelerate structural adjustment

China's export of mechanic and electronic products boarded third in the world again, exports and imports volume moved upward than that of the previous year. Secretary from the Ministry of electrical and information technology industry said the amount of China's export of mechanic and electronic products reached 977.17 billion U.S. dollars in 2006, of which exports amount  were 549.42 billion U.S. dollars, and ranks third in the world, imports of 427.76 billion U.S. dollars, ranking second in the  world.

Statistics show that in 2006 China's export of mechanic and electronic products increased 25.7%, 1.8 percentage points higher than the country's foreign trade, accounting for 55.5% of the country's foreign trade, a net increase of 200.04 billion  U.S. dollars , accounting for 59% of the nation's total foreign trade increased volume.

Processing trade will remain the backbone of mechanic and electronic products export. In 2006, China's mechanical and electronic products processing trade reached 606.56 billion U.S. dollars, accounting 62.1% of total exports and imports.
