Director of Daihatsu Motor Co.: Daihatsu wishes for a joint venture with FAW

The 100th anniversary of Daihatsu Motor Co. comes in March; executive director of China business of Daihatsu Motor Co. disclosed a major project in china in an interview. In short terms, the Company aims at 1% share of China's auto market, in the long run, it is hopefully to reach 3% and eventually establish a Joint Venture integrated in production and marketing with FAW.

According to an agreement from Daihatsu Motor and FAW this year, Daihatsu Motor will convey its technology and set up the production in Jilin FAW factory, sales are under FAW marketing channels in Jilin.

He said to Daihatsu that Suzuki is a strong competitor in China. It is believed the sales of two joint venture companies in China: Changan Suzuki and Changhe Suzuki reached about 200,000 units last year.
