Norstar receives order from GM
Norstar Group announced that it has won the first OE order for friction material products, shortly after the inking of a friction material technology licensing agreement with Delphi Technologies Inc. last September. Effective from 15 March 2007 to 31 December 2009, the contract covers both OEM and OES markets.
The Group will begin the production of the friction material and brake pads for the Buick Lacrosse manufactured by GM in March. The mode was one of the best sellers among mid-high range sedans in China's market last year. Wining the order marks Norstar's entry into the international OE supply system that has room only for the best players. It is also yet another breakthrough of the Group in the Chinese market, following the launch of its suspension systems/axle modules and shock absorbers.
After Norstar signed the technology licensing agreement with Delphi, it has upgraded its logistic, manufacturing, testing and quality control processes and the skill set of its core staff with help from Delphi. Apt in meeting the quality standards required by GM and the international OE supply system, Norstar has quickly transformed from a player in the after market to one in the OE market, and is well to meet the needs of other international brands. Norstar will continue to work closely with Delphi to develop more OEM and OES products for various vehicles manufactured by GM.
