Chinese auto aims at new Romanian market
Romania gradually became new focus of China auto exports. At least 6 models have already been or will be released in Romania, and local insiders predict Chinese imports will reach a climax in the second half of this year.
Great wall Hafu CUV and Shuanghuan CEO entered the market the earliest. The first model was introduced by the Alexander Group directly in 2006, with 600 units at the first batch. The group plans to import more than 10,000 units by 2010. The first batch of the second model, totaling 66 units, was promoted by a mechanical company in the fourth quarter 2006. Priced at 24,000 Euros, these vehicles are highly equipped with ABS, safety air bags and electric seats. It is said Italian OMCI has placed an order to purchase 2,000 Shuanghuan CEOs.
China Geely Holding Group is to launch its products at Romania this March following the above two automakers. At the time Geely will export Ziyoujian, Jingang models to this market, priced at 7,000 and 9,100 Euros.
