On March 14, the latest statistics from Guangzhou customs showed that in the first two months of this year, Guangdong's auto exports had exceeded 10,000 units, reached 12,000 vehicles, amounting to 65.076 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 43% and 34.5% over the same period of last year respectively.

In sharp contrast with the fact of automobile exports are growing robustly, since this month, the country will implement a license system for auto exports, Guangdong's authorized automobile export enterprises dropped 90% significantly and the number reduced from 252 to 18.

In order to further standardize the order of automobile exports, from March 1, the state initiated an implementation of licensing systems for auto exports. According to the Ministry of Commerce's notice, Guangdong has 12 enterprises with export licenses and 18 authorized export enterprises. It is believed that in 2006, Guangdong's export enterprises reached 252, and 153 export enterprises with exports below 10 units, accounting for 60.7% of total export enterprises, only 12 enterprises exports are over 1000 units.
