Brief analysis of China commercial vehicle production and sales in February, 2007

Sources from the latest survey revealed by China Auto Industry Association show commercial vehicle sales in February saw a big drop compared with the previous month, except for the sales increase in the semi trailer market. Production and sales volume of buses were 13,000 and 13,500, a drop of 28.46% and 26.35% compared with the previous month but with an 15.43% and 26.27% increase year on year; truck output and sales dropped by 19.25% and 13.21% to 92,100 and 83,300 units, respectively, a decline of 10.62% and 13.10% compared with the same period last year; incomplete vehicles decreased by 60.19% and 56.58% to 4,222 and 4,633, 4.95% compared with January and a 30.65% increase year on year; incomplete trucks sided by 26.56% and 16.02% to 29,200 and 23,500, up 7.08% and 20.77%; production of semi trailers increased by 1.83% to 12,100 compared with the prior month while sales dropped by 6.94% to 10,600 units, an increase of 1.6 fold or 94.55 percent.
