New Chevrolet Epica has went on sale at franchised shops in Hangzhou last week. Although it's not big news for SGM to launch a redesigned model, the activity was greatly promoted by the programs at Hunan TV, sponsored by SGM.

In comparison with SGM Buick model, who has won the sales champion for two straight years with a sales volume of 400,000 units, Chevrolet features a relatively weak delivery. This year SGM readjusted its brand development schedule in the hope of realizing a more stabilizing result.

According to Zhou Weizhong, general manager of one SGM authorized dealer in Hangzhou, Chevrolet will introduce Opel to Chinese market this year. Chevrolet is expected to catch up with Buick within the next two or three years and outrival Buick by 2010.
