Jianghuai Auto to open parts venture with Lear

Auhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd has signed an agreement at Hefei with Lear Corporation on co-development of auto electronic components. This is another progress on sedan parts program for Jianghuan Auto following its cooperation with Johnson Controls.

It is reported Jianghuai will co-establish a sedan parts venture with Lear Corporation and at the same time Jianghuai promised to provide including funds, techniques and management support. The joint venture is to offer high quality components to Jianghuai Auto.

Lear Corporation, listed 127th in the Fortune 500, is the fifth biggest auto parts supplier and a leader in the auto electronic components industry.

Sources from Jianghuai Auto say Jianghuai targets 5.000 to 6.000 sedan sales and two more low-mid range sedans will go on sale within the next two years. The company plans to launch one new model each year  with a total of 6 models to arrive in the coming five years, and to achieve a sales volume of 70,000 to 80,000 by 2008 and a final goal of 500,000 units annually.
