MIIT launches IoV industry development action plan
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) issued the Internet of Vehicle (Intelligent-connected vehicle) Industrial Development Action Plan (hereinafter referred to as the Plan) on December 27 to further promote the sound growth of IoV industry.
The Plan pointed out that IoV (ICV) is a nascent industrial mode that deeply integrates such domains as automobile, electronics, transportation as well as information and communications, etc. Developing IoV industry is significant to boost national's supply-side structural reform and is beneficial for China to elevate the level of automobile connectivity and intelligentization, develop autonomous vehicle and smart transportation and boost information consumption.
In accordance with the Plan, the IoV (ICV) industry should make breakthroughs in crossover industrial integration by 2020 and have the ICVs with high-level autonomous driving functions to be used on a certain scale under specific scenarios.
Besides, an ICV technology system that can support the Level 3 and above autonomous driving operation should be constructed. The R&D of some key technologies like 5G-V2X and the commercial application under some scenarios should be expedited.
The Plan also says key standards for IoV (ICV) should be formulated and relevant evaluation system ought to be improved. Meanwhile, developers should set up a scenario database to standardize the testing process and achieve data sharing.
What's more, more than 30% of users should be given access to IoV, while Level 2 driving assistant systems and in-car connected information service terminals should be installed into more than 30% and 60% of new vehicles respectively.
