Uber China expands mobility service in over 400 cities across China
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Uber China recently said that it has developed mobility service businesses in over 400 cities across China, the first-time announcement released after the U.S.-based ridesharing companies' China unit was acquired by Didi Chuxing, which is regarded as Uber's counterpart in China.
Uber has reportedly set up service outlets in capitals of most major provinces in China and some newly-added cities are surrounding their provincial capitals.
Meanwhile, the company is relocating its strategic position in China's mobility market, said Wen Yilong, head of Northern China region of Uber China.
Uber China's strategic deployment in this country officially started from Zhejiang Province on December 28, 2016. Several days later, the company spread roots into Wuxi and then marched into other cities in Jiangsu Province, including Suqian, Zhenjiang, Xuzhou, Huai’an, Yancheng and Yangzhou, etc.
As early as January 17, 2016, Uber launched a program to help Chinese passengers return hometown before and around the Spring Festival in 14 prefecture-level cities of Hunan Province, such as Yiyang, Zhangjiajie, Changde, Yueyang, Hengyang and Huaihua.
It is reported that the ride-hailing service provider is operating three major business sectors in China, namely, the tailored premium taxi service, the tailored comfortable taxi service as well as the affordable car-pooling service.
