Previously, operational data released by BYD on May 8 of this year showed that as of May 6, the number of Flash Charge stations nationwide stood at 5,924, covering 311 cities. According to the latest data, in the less than two months from early May to early July, the net increase in Flash Charge stations exceeded 1,000, and the network coverage expanded by 14 cities.

BYD's Flash Charge strategy kicked off in March. On March 5, 2026, BYD held the "Flash Charge China, Change the World" conference at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center, officially launching its second-generation Blade Battery and Flash Charge technology. According to information released at the time, this technology set a record for the fastest charging speed among mass-produced pure electric vehicles globally: charging from 10% to 70% takes just 5 minutes, and from 10% to 97% takes 9 minutes. In a low-temperature environment of minus 30 degrees Celsius, the time to charge from 20% to 97% is extended by only 3 minutes compared to normal temperatures. BYD believes this technology effectively resolves long-standing industry pain points such as slow charging speeds and difficulties with charging in low temperatures.

Accompanying the technology rollout, BYD simultaneously proposed the "Flash Charge China" strategy, planning to build 20,000 Flash Charge stations nationwide by the end of the year to enhance user convenience. Currently, the established Flash Charge network has covered the vast majority of cities in the country and continues to densify its layout, aiming to provide stable energy replenishment guarantees for car owners traveling across cities.

Industry analysts note that the rapid expansion of BYD's Flash Charge network is a typical practice of new energy vehicle manufacturers building their own energy replenishment ecosystems. Compared to the model of relying on public third-party charging piles, self-built stations by automakers help achieve synergy in technology adaptation, operational management, and user service, thereby providing a relatively more stable and efficient charging experience.
