FAW Jiefang announces details of Colombo smart logistics ecosystem opening-up plan

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 19, FAW Jiefang, FAW Group-owned truck manufacturing company, announced the details about its Colombo Plan, a smart logistics ecosystem opening-up plan that was unveiled in last October, according to local media.

The Colombo Plan includes the "Ai+" plan that focuses on an intelligent vehicle platform and the "Connect+" plan with IoV (Internet of Vehicles) platform as its core.

Under the "Ai+" plan, FAW Jiefang will support its partners by opening the intelligent vehicle ecosystem. The assistance will be given in three modes, namely, offering the systematic intelligent transportation solutions to clients by the company itself; joining hands with partners to offer the solutions using the algorithm provided by its partners; proffering the drive-by-wire vehicle platform for partners who are allowed to fulfill the end-to-end smart solution based on the utility needs over intelligent vehicle scenarios.

The "Connect+" plan means that the truck manufacturer will open the IoV data, IoV system and IoV ecosystem for its partners, so as to intelligentize China's logistics industry powered by the integration of vehicle data and scenarios data and shore up the industrial research, finance, insurance as well as logistics management. Meanwhile, it also plans to develop a number of digital application systems for consumers, enterprises, dealers and service providers that will facilitate users to experience services.

At the conference, FAW Jiefang announced over 50 ecosystem partners, including Bosch, Manbang Group, JD.com and PlusAI, etc. It inked a strategic cooperation agreement with Manbang Group, known as China's 'Uber for trucks', and handed over the Colombo Plan's first batch of intelligent trucks to PlusAI, an autonomous driving solution provider of JD.com's X business unit.
