FAW-VW, Volkswagen China build ICV joint venture dubbed MOSI
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- MOSI Intelligent Connectivity Technology Co.,Ltd (MOSI), a joint venture formed by FAW-Volkswagen (FAW-VW) and Volkswagen China, has been established in recent days. Dong Xiuhui, business vice president of FAW-VW, presided over a board of directors meeting on March 6 as MOSI's chairman.
The joint venture, which boasts a vision to be the most innovative intelligent connectivity technology company, will be dedicated to building internally-grown and integrated abilities in R&D and operation to offer users extraordinary ICV experience.
We can get what the new joint venture is trying to deliver from the company name. The “MOS” stands for “Morse Code”, endowing the company with a futuristic sense of digitalization, and the “I” stands for “intelligence”. Combing two parts, “MOSI” is also the pinyin of Chinese character “摩斯” (means “Morse Code” in Chinese).
As an important part of FAW-VW's “2025” strategy, the establishment of MOSI signals a milestone for the automaker's strategic transformation. Facing the new technical trends of electrification, intelligentization, connectivity and mobility sharing, the Sino-German carmaker has launched its car-sharing platform dubbed Mobje Mobility in last April and MOSI is another weapon prepared for IoV field.
