Didi-owned Xiaoju Automobile Solutions upgrades car rental business

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Xiaoju Automobile Solutions, a one-stop auto solutions platform owned by Didi Chuxing (Didi), has integrated its automobile operation center, hourly car rental business unit and new retail arm and upgraded them into a department dubbed “Xiaoju Car Rental Service”, the company said on March 38.

Yang Jun, vice president of Xiaojun Automobile Solutions, has been appointed as the new business arm's general manager. In the meantime, the tag of “Xiaoju Car Rental” has appeared on Didi's App. The newly-launched feature will further conduct short-term car rental business based on the original hourly car rental business. Besides, Didi Carsharing, an in-app on-demand vehicle offer of Didi, has been upgraded with a new name of “Xiaoju Car Rental”.

The Didi-backed platform has deployed its car rental service in five cities, including Hangzhou, Ningbo, Xi'an, Zibo and Quanzhou. Now, the upgraded “Xiaoju Car Rental” will provide users with short-term car rental service with a longer usage period. Reportedly, Hangzhou has become the first city that is available for Didi's short-term car rental service.

Chen Ting, vice president of Didi, stated upgrading car rental business suggests that car rental service will turn into main cause for Xiaoju Automobile Solutions. It aims to become an ultra-efficiency one-stop open platform of long-/short-term services by focusing on main business, connecting and energizing partnership, so as to improve operation efficiency of assets and reduce users’ vehicle lifecycle cost.

Apart from the car rental, Xiaoju Automobile Solutions has also formed a service system that covers refueling, maintenance, EV charging, insurance and roadside assistance, etc.
