GAC Group’s foray into mobility service to begin in summer
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Group is ready to launch its own mobility service brand dubbed ON TIME (in Chinese, “Ruqi Chuxing”) at the end of June in Guangzhou, the automaker's headquarters, according to local media outlets.
Involving over RMB1 billion worth of investment, the yet-to-be-launched intelligent mobility service platform also received capital injection from such companies as Tencent and Guangzhou Public Transport, said a local media.
The new mobility service brand has registered an official WeChat account. According to a recent press release on the popular social platform, the platform will use white Trumpchi GE3 BEVs for the ride-hailing trial operation. Reportedly, the BEVs under the GAC Aion Series will be deployed later and all vehicles will be fitted with IoV (Internet of Vehicles) system.
GAC Group initiated a program designed for mobility service as early as last August. The B2C business mode will be available at the initial stage. The press release also said that the inner tests over the mobility platform's operation have been basically completed after 10-month endeavor. Besides, the program is currently recruiting 2,000 dedicated chauffeurs for its early operation.
Based on big data, IoT and various automotive technologies, the platform is able to seek target spots of shopping, food and entertainment that match users’ personalized demands, said GAC Group (photo source: ON TIME's WeChat account).
