Banma targets Android with independent OS
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Banma Network Technology, an Internet car solution provider formed by Alibaba Group and SAIC Motor, announced its three ways of cooperation on Sep. 27 at the 2019 Hangzhou Apsara Conference.
The first one, end to end, means that Banma can provide deeply customized solutions for OEMs to offer better user experience and data operation.
The second one, the ability to be integrated, focuses on differentiated development. By means of software development kits (SDK), Banma’s capabilities of technological convergence and resources integration are supplied to industrial partners.

Banma indicated that the three ways are to meet various demands from automakers for solutions to automotive connectivity and transformation to mobility service providers.
An ICV chip association
Meanwhile, Banma has established an ICV chip association with five chipmakers, Qualcomm, Media Tek, Intel, NXP, and Texas Instruments to co-build a software-hardware-integrated technological foundation with Banma Smart Mobility OS (Operating System) as the core, which will supply a lower-priced, optimized and efficient ICV platform according to Banma.
Banma’s three cooperation approaches suggest that it is prepared for its all-around openness. Besides, the collaboration with chipmakers can integrate Banma’s system closely with hardware to help create an exclusive ecosphere. Banma also said it, as a third-party platform, will be committed to developing China’s independent OS and surpassing Android in in-vehicle system.
