Shanghai aims to launch 1 million vehicles for ride-hailing service within 5 years

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In April, Shanghai authorities announced its latest action plan to promote new online economy. The action plan clearly proposes to develop new mobility service. According to reports from local media outlets, Shanghai aims to launch another 1 million vehicles for ride-hailing service within five years.

The action plan proposes to promote the application of intelligent connected vehicle in commercial scenarios, expand automotive aftermarket services, encourage the development of time-sharing rental and sharing vehicles, explore new trip modes such as self-driving taxi, accelerate the construction of man-vehicle-road-cloud infrastructure internet of “”, and build a smart travel service chain.

Besides, promoting the new modes of contactless sales such as “one-click refueling” and “one-click to the vehicle” for petrol stations is also proposed in the action plan. Moreover, the action plan is to accelerate the integration of location-based service such as BDS with transportation, and optimize the travel routes via control information, traffic conditions, etc., so as to improve the matching efficiency and vehicle utilization rate.

Additionally, in terms of the new direction for automotive industry, the action plan aims to build more than 100 fully-automatic factories, production lines and workshops, and accelerate the intelligent transformation of high-end equipment, automobiles and other industries. Focusing on new manufacturing models such as flexible manufacturing, cloud manufacturing and shared manufacturing, it aims to strengthen flexible production capacity and digital infrastructure support to improve emergency production capacity.

And it is proposed to accelerate the development of intelligent manufacturing units, industrial robots and storage robots with self-sensing, self-control, self-decision-making and self-execution functions, intensify the promotion and application of autonomous robots, and develop an intelligent multi-tier shuttle vehicle system in an innovative way.
