As a newcomer to the automotive OS field, RT-Thread was able to supply full-stack solutions for multiple companies within the industry, with mass production coming soon.
Currently, most auto companies’ onboard operating systems are built on the foundation of Android or Linux. RT-Thread facilitated a three-step plan to turn the situation around and develop its own onboard OS.
According to its plan, the company aims to promote scaled production of its products from 2023 to 2024, earning the industry's trust. From 2025 to 2026, RT-Thread plans to widely deploy its OS and solutions onto mass-produced vehicles and branch out overseas.
In an effort to enact its plan, RT-Thread has formed partnerships with numerous leading chip suppliers, including Black Sesame Technologies, NXP, Infineon, Texas Instruments, and XILINX.
Moreover, RT-Thread successfully built an integrated automotive software platform consisting of OS, virtual systems, and extension components named Chengxuan. The platform can be broadly applied to the security gateway, domain controllers, sensors, HUD, millimeter-wave radars, LiDAR, V2X, batteries, electric motors, and electrical control.
Additionally, Chengxuan was developed strictly under the auto-grade guidelines and passed the ISO 26262 ASIL D, EC 61508 SIL 3, and EN 50128 SIL 4 safety standards in February 2022.
