Description

The Vehicle Access System offers a secure keyless access to the car by means of several technologies such as Biometrics (Facial Authentication, Voice Authentication and Fingerprint), Digital Key (through Mobile APP or NFC Card) and PIN Code. In addition, the product includes a backlit solution with functional and ambient illumination and a display as an exterior HMI solution (included in the exterior B-pillar). The multi-factor authentication provides a high level of security for car access, with facial authentication being the most secure system combining 3D facial identification and real live skin detection. All seamlessly integrated packed in a sleek display with intuitive user interface.

Unique advantages

The technology developed has been integrated into an Exterior Vehicle Access System, developed by Antolin. This safe and convenient access system is a combined software and hardware solution for seamless integration into the driver's door or any other external area of the vehicle.  The system includes several authentication methods to access the vehicle:  Biometric data (voice recognition, facial recognition, and fingerprint),  Digital key (mobile phone app or NFC card)  PIN code.  In this way, drivers are protected against unauthorized access and vehicle theft, requesting, if necessary, double authentication for access.  Opening and starting the car with the voice or the face: the authorized driver will only need his voice or the face to access and start the car, quickly and easily, without the need for physical keys! Customized driver settings: by identifying and recognizing the authorized driver, the car will be able to set the driver's settings, such as seat and mirror placement, favorite music, or even read the latest mails received or social media posts as an assistant.  For face authentication, the head sensing system (IR Camera, IR LED, Dot Projector) is seamlessly integrated in an exterior pillar ensuring a proper field of view and avoiding internal light reflections.  The display and touch panel are optically bonded to the decorative part. This technology reduces light reflection for a sunlight readable solution. The display provides access to the PIN pad and other functionalities such as battery status or glass window operation. The touch panel offers sufficient sensitivity to work in wet conditions. For voice authentication, a MEMS digital microphone is integrated to ensure watertightness. In addition, a Wake-Up Word algorithm avoids standby power consumption. For the fingerprint, the system includes a capacitive sensor suitable for outdoors.  The NFC antenna is integrated to enable digital key use cases via smartphone or NFC card. The mobile app allows remote delivery of a ‘virtual key’ to access the car, even temporarily, for an occasional driver or parcel delivery. The card also enables valet mode. The backlit solution includes high-power RGB LEDs bright enough to be used in sunlight. Packaging of all devices and sensors is critical due to the lack of space in the area where the pillar is installed.

Application

The Vehicle Access System, a combined software and hardware solution for access system seamless integration into driver’s door or any other exterior area, is the latest proposal of Antolin for a convenient vehicle access. The vehicle access system also incorporates several functionalities such as enabling parcel delivery to the car by granting access to the couriers, the possibility of activating the windows from outside the car or GPS location, among others. The systems include an interactive screen and presents a piano black surface with functional and ambient lighting.
