NEVC inaugurates automotive digital experience lab in Beijing

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 19, the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center, known as "NEVC," held the unveiling ceremony for its Automotive Digital Experience Laboratory in Beijing's Economic Development Zone.

The NEVC Automotive Digital Experience Laboratory is comprised of five key modules, including a simulated cockpit, scene modeling software, 360-degree panoramic views, virtual reality equipment, and human factor testing devices. 

Through the utilization of digital scene modeling, flexible simulated cockpits, and virtual reality technologies, it replicates both external driving scenarios and internal cabin environments. Additionally, it incorporates vehicle dynamics software and a six-degree-of-freedom motion platform to simulate vehicle motion, achieving a high level of fidelity for static and dynamic driving scenarios. Various physiological testing devices, including attention measurement tools and assessments for physiology, cognition, emotion, and fatigue, are introduced to standardize human factor testing and analysis. This approach presents users' subjective experiences objectively and conducts corresponding analyses.

The laboratory's primary objective is to assist automotive companies and component suppliers in researching and evaluating user consumption, purchase, and driving behavior across various scenarios during different stages of vehicle development—before, during, and after. It aims to identify user concerns and emerging trends, facilitating testing, validation, and optimization of product definitions and designs for automobiles. 

This initiative is aimed at providing consumers with an exceptional automotive experience and helping automotive companies and component suppliers enhance their product competitiveness. The services offered include market research, customer profiling, scenario research testing, human factor effectiveness evaluations, vehicle application data analysis, solution consulting, and more. This comprehensive range of services is expected to shorten the development cycle of new car models by nearly one-third compared to the current average stage.
