SemiDrive’s MCU-powered CDC installed onto Chery’s vehicles

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On October 19, SemiDrive, a Chinese automotive chip supplier, announced the mass production of Mainroad Technology's suspension Continuous Damping Control (CDC) unit, which features SemiDrive’s high-performance MCU.

This product is now officially deployed onto Chery's Tiggo 9 and EXEED Yaoguang models.

SemiDrive's MCU represents a significant milestone as the first domestically produced automotive chip applied in an active suspension system. It marks the pioneering achievement of scaling high-performance and high-reliability automotive MCUs in the realm of active suspension control.

In the context of smart electric vehicles, advanced suspension systems are essential for enhancing vehicle stability. The suspension controller, as the core of the electronic suspension system, regulates shock absorbers and air springs, significantly improving both comfort and handling. The key to enhancing the performance of suspension controllers lies in the MCU control chip, which necessitates exceptionally high performance and functional safety standards.

Up to now, SemiDrive has successfully mass-produced four series of chips, including the V9 intelligent driving series, X9 smart cockpit series, G9 network series, and E3 control series, with a cumulative shipment of over 3 million units.

The E3 series, introduced in 2022, boasts a high clock speed of up to 600MHz. It finds extensive applications in critical domains like chassis, steering, power management, BMS battery management, and ADAS (advanced driving assistance system).

Currently, over 100 customers have adopted SemiDrive's E3 series in their product designs, serving a wide spectrum of clients ranging from automakers to intelligent driving tech companies, LiDAR and battery manufacturers, and more.
