IM Motors to roll out inaugural trial of urban NOA in Shanghai

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 15, IM Motors, the premium intelligent electric vehicle brand co-founded by SAIC Motor, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, and Alibaba, announced that, starting January 23, its urban NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) will officially roll out, with the primary urban area in Shanghai being the first to adopt this advanced intelligent driving feature.

IM Motors’ urban NOA, equipped with efficient sensing architecture and cutting-edge AI algorithms, enables vehicles to navigate urban complexities autonomously. Activating urban NOA in designated city main roads allows for automated following of navigation paths, intelligent lane changes, turning at unprotected intersections, and obstacle avoidance. This functionality significantly reduces driver fatigue and stress throughout the entire intelligent navigation-assisted driving process from point A to B.

IM Motors anticipates a prosperous year for its IM AD advanced intelligent driving system deployment in 2024. Following the launch of urban NOA, a nationwide beta test of the urban commute mode smart driving system will be launched in the first quarter. By June, the company plans to introduce urban NOA function that does not rely on HD maps, accelerating citywide deployment. Throughout the year, IM Motors aims to expand the urban commute mode smart driving system to hundreds of cities, introducing advanced features like One-Key AI Valet 2.0, Memory Parking, and Automated Multilevel Parking.

In addition to the swift implementation of urban NOA, IM Motors achieved a significant milestone in its L3 autonomous driving development. On December 18, 2023, the company obtained the official autonomous vehicle testing license for highway/expressway in Shanghai, marking a breakthrough in the company’s autonomous driving capabilities.
