IM Motors rolls out IM AD urban NOA function in Shanghai

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 23, IM Motors, the premium intelligent electric vehicle brand co-founded by SAIC Motor, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, and Alibaba, rolled out the IM urban NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) feature, marking the commencement of its global first trial. 

The primary urban area in Shanghai is the first to adopt this advanced intelligent driving feature.

The IM urban NOA function boasts an efficient perception architecture and cutting-edge AI algorithms. Within supported urban main roads, once activated, the urban NOA feature enables vehicles to autonomously follow navigation routes, intelligently change lanes, make turns at unprotected intersections, and navigate around obstacles. This functionality essentially achieves intelligent navigation-assisted driving from point A to B, significantly reducing driver fatigue and stress.

The pioneering launch of the IM urban NOA begins in Shanghai, adhering to the automaker’s meticulous principle of "testing city by city, thorough validation." In practical tests within Shanghai's open main urban area, IM Motors said that its urban NOA demonstrated a 30% lower intervention rate per hundred kilometers compared to competitors.

IM Motors anticipates a prosperous year for its IM AD advanced intelligent driving system deployment in 2024. Following the launch of urban NOA, a nationwide beta test of the urban commute mode smart driving system will be launched in the first quarter. By June, the company plans to introduce urban NOA function that does not rely on HD maps, accelerating citywide deployment. Throughout the year, IM Motors aims to expand the urban commute mode smart driving system to hundreds of cities, introducing advanced features like One-Key AI Valet 2.0, Memory Parking, and Automated Multilevel Parking.
