The STERRA ES’s intelligent driving system integrates more than 30 perception hardware components such as millimeter-wave radar, ultrasonic radar, LiDAR, and a 360-degree high-definition camera. Equipped with Chery's third-generation intelligent driving technology, Chery Pilot 3.0, and powered by two NVIDIA DRIVE Orin chips boasting 508 TOPS of computing power.
The focus of this OTA update lies in advanced intelligent driving functionalities, notably the Navigater Exeed Pilot (NEP) high-speed navigation-assisted driving and automatic parking assistance (APA). NEP's high-speed navigation assistance enables nationwide coverage of nearly 400,000 kilometers of expressways and urban elevated roads.
The STERRA ES now offers proactive lane change prompts and automatic lane changes to avoid missing exits. Additionally, it autonomously maneuvers to avoid obstacles and maintains safe distances from adjacent vehicles, enhancing both safety and efficiency during highway driving.
Moreover, the updated APA feature, accessible via voice command or the in-car parking app, utilizes vehicle perimeter sensors to scan and monitor parking spaces in real-time, eliminating blind spots and reducing the risk of parking accidents.
