IAT, Wuxi Economic Development District to co-build innovation center for AI auto R&D, design

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Recently, IAT Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. ("IAT") and the Wuxi Economic Development District officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement to establish a global AI automotive R&D and design innovation center, IAT announced via its WeChat account on Aug. 23. This partnership aims to promote innovative applications of AI in automotive design and related fields, marking a new phase in their collaboration across various sectors, including automotive and components, virtual factories, and humanoid robots.

Wuxi Economic Development District is actively building modern industrial clusters and accelerating its presence in emerging industries, such as industrial software, intelligent connected vehicles, energy storage, and new energy vehicles. As a leading global supplier of automotive design solutions and a strategic partner of NVIDIA, IAT has a solid foundation in automotive and components design, along with extensive experience in applying AI technologies to the automotive sector.

Under the agreement, IAT and Wuxi Economic Development District will engage in deep collaboration across multiple areas, including scenario innovation, AI model development and computing power cooperation, digital twin technology, an open platform for intelligent robotics, AI-integrated industrial software, data asset management, industry-education integration, and comprehensive support. In particular, the two parties will focus on scenario innovation, working together to explore and implement the localization of IAT's AI-empowered platform in automotive components, industrial internet, and humanoid robots. This effort will prioritize the development of typical application cases with leading domestic and international companies.

Regarding computing power collaboration, IAT and Wuxi Economic Development District will jointly promote the integration of the IAT-NVIDIA OVX intelligent computing system into Wuxi's computing power scheduling platform, providing one-stop solutions for users in various scenarios. Additionally, leveraging the NVIDIA Omniverse platform and AIE environment, they will co-develop applications to enhance the innovation and development of high-quality digital twin models. The partnership will also establish an open platform for intelligent robotics, facilitating real-time training and simulation of intelligent robots in virtual environments, and accelerating the application of large AI models in the robotics field.

What’s more, IAT and Wuxi Economic Development District are set to partner with Wuxi Big Data Group to create a specialized AI-powered data zone for the automotive and components sectors. This initiative aims to define high-quality data standards and position itself as a model case for China's National Data Bureau.

In addition to data management, the partnership will also focus on developing a comprehensive training system to enhance AI capabilities within the automotive industry. This system will provide specialized technical certifications, equipping professionals with the skills needed to leverage AI technologies in automotive design and production, further strengthening talent development and industry expertise.
