Beijing (Gasgoo)- On October 24, iFlytek introduced the automobile-side Spark large model at the Global 1024 Developer Festival. The large model can function without internet access, offering performance nearly identical to its cloud-based counterpart, addressing users' needs in specific scenarios.

According to iFlytek, many users face connectivity issues when driving through tunnels or areas with poor signal, or they prefer not to sync personal data to the cloud for privacy reasons. The locally deployed vehicle-end Spark large model solves these challenges, allowing vehicles to operate independently of cloud networks.

Despite having parameters of only 1.3B, two orders of magnitude lower than general-purpose models, the vehicle-use Spark large model's performance in typical automotive scenarios only decreases by 1%. The initial response time is reduced to 40 milliseconds, and for more complex requests requiring cloud integration, the integrated system responds in 1.3 seconds.

iFlytek further revealed that by the fourth quarter of 2024, automakers like Chery, GAC Group, and Great Wall Motor will begin integrating the Spark large model into their vehicles, with these models set to launch soon.
