Hesai Technology deepens collaboration with BYD

Beijing (Gasgoo)- LiDAR manufacturer Hesai Technology announced on Feb. 11 an expanded partnership with BYD in intelligent driving, with large-scale production and vehicle integration set to commence soon. In 2025, more than ten BYD models will be equipped with Hesai's LiDAR technology.  

In 2024, BYD once again dominated the global new energy vehicle market, achieving sales of 4.27 million units, which zoomed up 41.26% year on year.

BYD is making a significant push in intelligent mobility, with Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu announcing a 100-billion-yuan investment to advance integrated vehicle intelligence.

In 2025, BYD aims to democratize advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) through its self-developed "God's Eye" advanced intelligent driving system. Currently, over 4 million BYD vehicles are equipped with smart driving functions. Hesai said its LiDAR solutions will enhance driving safety and accelerate BYD's goal of making ADAS accessible to all.  

According to the Gasgoo Auto Research Institute, the Chinese LiDAR market saw rapid expansion in 2024, with annual installations exceeding 1.5 million units—more than doubled than that of 2023. Hesai Technology also became the world's first company to deliver over 100,000 LiDAR units in a single month.

In 2025, Hesai's annual planned production capacity will surpass 2 million units, with its compact, high-definition ATX LiDAR set to play a key role in mass production, providing automakers with advanced perception capabilities.
