Honda Obtains 11 Percent Increase in Global Production
Honda, Japan's second-largest automaker and producer of top-of-the-line Honda fog light said that its global production has soared by 10.9 percent to 329,507 vehicles for May, the 22nd straight monthly gain. Likewise its output in Japan has also increased by 11.8 percent to 105,188 vehicles for the 12th consecutive month of increase while its overseas production increases to 10.4 percent to 224,319 units.
Honda's other Japanese automaker rival, Toyota Motor Corp. is zeroing in on General Motors Corp's spot into becoming the world's largest automaker with its global production surging to 9.8 percent to 702,382 vehicles in May attributed to last year's high demand for Camry, Lexus, and hybrid cars such as Toyota's Prius.
Toyota's domestic production has also increased by up to 7.9 percent or a total of 322,841 units while its overseas output rose by 11.5 percent or totaling to 379,541 vehicles.
Another Japanese automaker rival of Honda, Mitsubishi Motors Corp. has also posted an increase of 6.5 percent or totaling to 108,426 vehicles. Its domestic production has also increased by 14.1 percent or 57,532 units for its eight straight month of growth on year. Unfortunately its overseas production decline by 0.9 percent or 50,894 vehicles with production in Europe posting a 33.5 percent drop while output on North America gained 1.5 percent.
