Hainan, the first province in China to come up with the timeframe of banning the sale of oil-fueled automobiles, stressed the aim in an implementation scheme for peaking carbon dioxide emissions issued by Hainan provincial government today.

China will extend its exemption of purchase taxes on new energy vehicles (“NEVs”) to the end of 2023, the country’s State Council decided at an executive meeting held on August 18, as part of measures to boost automobile sales.
