GAC unveils first intelligent-connected electric concept car iSpace

Shanghai (Gasgoo)-On Nov. 16, Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the GAC Group) and China's Internet giant Tencent Holdings Limited (hereinafter referred to as Tencent) co-presented their latest intelligent-connected product, and unveiled the iSpace intelligent-connected concept car.

The world premiere of iSPACE redefines the intelligent internet-connected ecosystem. The new concept is GAC's self-innovated vehicle built based on the new energy platform. The iSPACE redefines customers' needs and makes the vehicle to be a mobile living room. With the idea of car stops, life starts, the new model can integrate the front and rear seats into a double bed, enabling the prefect shift of driving mode and living mode. What's more, the iSPACE also offers infotainment interaction experience system. 

Thanks to Tencent AI in Car system, the concept car can sense several mobility scenarios, such as commuting, dating and airport shuttling, etc. In the future, the car owners can send and receive WeChat and QQ messages conveniently and safely while driving. Meanwhile, Tencent's cutting-edge onboard connected safety system will provide overall security for customers to have influent social communication while they are picking up families and friends as well as sharing in-time routes.

With the popularity of Internet+ concept, it is a megatrend for traditional automakers to cooperate with Internet companies. GAC group's partnership with Tencent upscaled the cooperation mode of traditional automaker and Internet companies to a higher level. Early on September 18, GAC signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Tencent, saying that they will cooperate in areas such as internet-connected vehicles, intelligent driving, cloud platform, big data, automobile ecosystem, advertising and marketing, and will also explore capital cooperation in mobility service and auto-related e-commerce platform, NEVs and auto insurance to promote their development.

According to their plan, GAC and Tencent will jointly develop and finally mass produce the front-end and back-end products in 2018. Equipped with the jointly developed onboard intelligent network terminal product, GAC models will be intelligent in voice interaction, intelligent mobility and personalized services in the near future.
