After Audi, Hanergy Thin Film Power cooperates with BAIC BJEV

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Currently, reporters learned that Hanergy Thin Film Power Group Limited, listed on the TOP 100 Global Energy Leaders by Reuters, signed a strategic cooperative strategy with BAIC BJEV to promote comprehensive cooperation in areas including vehicle roof solution, NEV charging stations, sharing electric vehicles, and others under the cooperative framework of “wise transportation and green travelling”. It should also be mentioned that Hanergy Thin Film Power has signed strategic cooperative agreement on solar power battery technologies with Audi previously.

It’s learned that the auto skylight roof solution co-developed by Hanergy and BAIC BJEV will apply thin film solar energy into vehicle skylights and roofs to provide auxiliary power for vehicles, thus lifting driving range. Besides, the two sides will provide back-up power for auto GPS and electronic locks through thin film solar power technologies in sharing electric vehicles.

Apart from cooperation in vehicles, it’s learned that BAIC BJEV will also apply Hanergy thin film power construction solutions in auto parks and plants, and conduct cooperation in agricultural and photovoltaic poverty alleviation areas.

The industry believes that thin film solar power chips have high transformation efficiency and flexible features, which are suitable for the application in auto area. In the future, auto industry will be a large market for thin film solar power technologies.

BAIC Group announced in this month that it would stop selling traditional fossil-fuel powered passenger vehicles under self-owned brands in Beijing City by the year 2020 and stop producing and selling traditional fossil-fuel powered passenger vehicles under self-owned brands across China by 2025.
