Xpeng Motors to build 1,000 supercharging stations

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Xpeng Motors will build up more than 1,000 supercharging stations across China. What's more, it will set up 10,000 Xpeng-exclusive charging piles and connect selected more than 10,000 third-party charging piles. In addition, Xpeng Motor's supercharging stations will boast a charging capability of 300kW, enabling vehicles to be 80% charged in 20 minutes.

In 2018, Xpeng Motors will build up Xpeng-exclusive charging piles in several first- and second-tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen successively. Besides, it targets to set up 150 supercharging stations nationwide. Xpeng's charging piles are highlighted by beautiful appearance, short charging time and exclusive lots. Its self-developed supercharging piles also boast convenient usage.

A few days before, Xpeng Motors exposed its plan to raise RMB 10 billion ($1.6 billion) this year as the world's largest EV market were crowded with competitive  rivals. The company also plans to start pre-sales of its first model, the G3 crossover, by the end of this month, He Xiaopeng, founder of Xpeng, disclosed in an interview at the Boao Forum. However, he did not elaborate on specific details on Xiaopeng's fundraising plan. Previously, Xpeng showed off its new G3 SUV at this year's CES in Las Vegas.
