NIO, JAC sign agreement on manufacturing of second NIO model

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Zhu Jiang, vice president of NIO's user development, confirmed that NIO will not only continue to cooperate with JAC, but also will deepen their cooperation in the future. Zhu Jiang also added that NIO had signed an agreement on the manufacturing of its second model with JAC.

As to the issue of contract manufacturing, Zhu Jiang said that it is a common practice in auto industry. For instance, the Mercedes-Benz G-class, Jaguar's latest compact SUV models and all-new electric model products as well as part of BMW models are all manufactured by their contract partners.

Zhu Jiang explained that it is the processes of manufacturing management and quality control that matter most to automakers' product quality. NIO sticks to high standards on the two processes and focuses on R&D and services. Besides, he showed great confidence in producing high-quality products via cooperating with JAC.

Zhu Jiang also disclosed that NIO is accelerating construction of its factory in Jiading District, Shanghai, because JAC's production capacity is limited. What's more, NIO has established co-founded companies with Changan and GAC Group respectively. The automakers' management will determine their respective new companies' products and brands, including the whole project and chassis. In the future, NIO, Changan and GAC Goup will share their resources with the co-founded companies.
