NIO starts to deliver ES8 on May 31

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- NIO started to deliver its first pure electric SUV, the ES8 on May 31. Till now, at least four car owners have picked up their cars and also finished license registration. Among them, one car owner who gained the 0001-numbered ES8 is Li Tianshu, product manager of NIO and father of Nomi.

Looking from the pictures, the 0001-numbered ES8 has a variety of bespoke features, such as a signature board under the center console. What's worth mentioning, NIO provides bespoke services on the first 10,000 units of NIO's founder edition.

Apart from the 0001-numbered ES8, the 0014, 0035 and 0182-numbered ES8 were also picked up by their owners, according to NIO App.

Insiders from NIO stated that the delivery order of the first batch of the NIO ES8 keeps the same as that revealed before. For starters, NIO will ensure the first 200 owners who had preordered the ES8 to pick up the model first. Secondly, NIO will deliver the corresponding-color ES8 to their customers who preordered the ES8 with their desired colors, based on the colors of first batch of new models in the manufacturing plan. In addition, NIO will determine the key delivery areas.

The delivery started from May 31, and the first 10,000 unit of ES8's founder edition will finish delivery before this National Day, according to NIO's official plan.

At the same time, NIO is working on the construction of its battery swapping stations. By far, the first NIO battery swapping station in Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Nanjing has completed construction in succession. Currently, the battery swapping stations are in the final adjusting stage, and are expected to be put into operation in a short term.

What's more, NIO announced that it will continue to deploy a variety of battery swapping stations based on the car delivery areas. NIO will spare no efforts to ensure the first batch of car owners to enjoy effective battery swapping experience after they picked up their cars.
