GAC Toyota launches pure electric SUV at Chengdu Motor Show 2018

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Aug. 31, GAC Toyota launched its first mass-produced pure electric SUV, the GAC ix4 at the Chengdu Motor Show 2018 with two variants. With price starting from RMB 163, 800, the model also enjoys purchase tax exemption.

The launch of the GAC ix4 symbolizes that GAC Toyota has made great progress in new energy vehicle (NEV) market. It is said that GAC Toyota will introduce all-new energy-saving and NEV vehicle products per year in the next three years.

Based on the same mature platform as that of the GS 4, the GAC ix4 is powered by a whopping electric motor, high-energy density batteries and a highly-integrated electric motor controller with a maximum power output of 132kW and a peak torque of 290Nm. What's more, it can sprint from 0-50km/h in 4.5 seconds.

Equipped with 120.7Wh/kg ternary lithium batteries, the GAC ix4 boasts a range of 270km. Under a constant speed of 60km, the model's range even can reach 376km. Under the direct-current fast charging mode, the GAC ix4 can get 80% charged within 30 minutes. Moreover, the model can be fully charged in 8 hours under the alternate-current slow charging mode. 

The GAC ix4 features a horizontally-stretched intake grille with blue trims decorated in the middle. The model's daytime running lamps feature an "L" shape, which echoes harmoniously with its tail lights. Besides, the GAC ix 4 measures 4,525mm in length, 1,852mm in width, 1,685mm in height and sets on a wheelbase of 2,640mm. The model offers a specious, well-designed and wrap-around cabin with a variety of high-tech amenities, such as high-definition, colorful 10.1-inch touch screen and voice control.
