GAC Group to launch one pure electric vehicle per half year from 2019
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Group will launch one new pure electric vehicle every half year from 2019. Moreover, new energy vehicle products will take up 10% of GAC Group's annual vehicle output and sales by 2020, according to Feng Xingya, general manager of GAC Group.
It is also disclosed that GAC's first model which can be self-driven at expressways will be massively produced in 2018. GAC Group has introduced the Qizhi PHEV, which is researched and developed by GAC R&D center, into GAC Mitsubishi, and also introduced the GAC ix4 into GAC Toyota. It is revealed that GAC Group also is introducing similar projects to GAC Honda and GAC FCA.
As to car-sharing field, GAC Group also established a project group of mobility, which will provide services to customers next year.
On Aug. 31, GAC Toyota launched its first mass-produced pure electric SUV, the GAC ix4 at the Chengdu Motor Show 2018 with two variants. With price starting from RMB 163, 800, the model also enjoys purchase tax exemption. The launch of the GAC ix4 symbolizes that GAC Toyota has made great progress in new energy vehicle (NEV) market.
