BAIC BJEV announces mid-long term technology development planning

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 18, BAIC BJEV, the EV unit of the state-owned BAIC Group, announced its 2025 mid-long term technology development planning and also elaborated on its artificial intelligence auto system, the Darwin System.

Under the plan, 3 platforms will cover the automaker’s product line by 2021. In battery system, BAIC BJEV will promote the development of battery platform in line with the complete vehicle platform and plans to finish the matching between complete vehicle platform and battery pack.

The company plans to increase the battery density to 350Wh/kg by 2025 and the battery is expected to be charged to 80% in 10 minutes. In autonomous vehicle segment, BAIC BJEV aims to launch L2.5 autonomous vehicles by 2022 and L4 vehicles by 2025. On September 27, BAIC Bluepark, the shell company for BAIC BJEV to go public, resumed trading on Shanghai stock exchange.

The Darwin System features driver liberation, human entertainment and automatic improvement. The system can give people more freedom via various functions like automatic valet parking, autonomous driving, ultra-long-endurance, super-fast charging system.

Human entertainment is to gain all-around understanding on users and create user portrait via artificial intelligence (AI) computing method and demand analysis. Besides, the system can realize automatic improvement via cloud platform.
