WM Motor Expands its Offerings Under the EX6 Plus Range, Introducing the EX6 Plus 400

From WM Motor| March 04 , 2020 11:47 BJT

Following the release of the EX6 Plus Founders Edition at the Guangzhou Auto Show last November, WM Motor has announced a new edition to the EX6 Plus range, the EX6 Plus 400. The new model variant is available for order in China at a starting price of 189,900 CNY after the inclusion of the national standard subsidy.
The EX6 Plus is WM Motor’s second long-range pure electric SUV, and the Company’s second model to be based on WM’s proprietary Ajax EV platform, shared with the EX5. The EX6 Plus 400 is equipped with a 54kW/h battery and WM’s high-powered front wheel drive motor module from Borg Warner, which provides a max power output of 160kW and an NEDC range of 408km. The EX6 Plus has larger interior space than the EX5 (seating up to 6 with plenty of storage1) as well as a redesigned, sporty exterior shape.

WM Motor Purchase Plan
The EX6 Plus 400 is available to purchase under WM Motor’s new Purchase Plan, an innovative offer that halves the upfront cost of the vehicle, allowing users to make monthly payments for battery leasing and energy usage based on how they drive. After two years, users can continue to drive at a cheaper rate, wholly own the vehicle, or consider buy back options. Contracts can be extended every two years for a maximum contract period of 6 years, after which time users can also choose make the outstanding payment for indefinite ownership or consider buy back options. Under the plan, users can access unlimited charging on WM Motor's GETnGO charging network of over 200,000 chargers across China. Users also have the choice between a limited kilometer (0-1,500km) or an unlimited kilometer contract, which incur monthly charges of ¥1,599 and ¥1,999 per month respectively, allowing users to save based on how they drive.

Customisation-to-Manufacturing (C2M)

As with all of WM Motor’s vehicles, the EX6 Plus has a range of customisable options to choose from. A simulator tool on the website and mobile app helps users to examine configuration options and design their ideal car before placing their direct-to-factory order, triggering a 3-6 week delivery lead time.
Available as an optional package is the Premium Upgrades Package, which incorporates a range of additional hardware and software features outlined in the spec sheet. A key element of the package is WM Motor’s new advanced Thermal Management 2.0 system, which includes a state-of-the art liquid cooling and electric heating system as well advanced battery pre-heating and battery-to-cabin integrated thermal heating system, helping the
EX6 Plus to maintain long range capability even in the most extreme cold conditions.

Living Engine 2.0
The EX6 Plus 400 is equipped with Living Engine 2.0, WM Motor’s latest software update, which includes improved features and functionality as well

as upgrades to WM Motor’s on-board AI assistant ‘Xiaowei’. Xiaowei can now control more vehicle functions and apps automatically through

natural language voice commands. Also unique to Living Engine 2.0 is WM’s exclusive in-vehicle social networking platform built into the 12.8-inch rotating touch screen display. The new Weimi platform provides a space for users to easily connect with one another through direct voice-to-text messaging.
Safety
The EX6 Plus is equipped with multiple active and passive safety equipment including the Bosch ESP 9.3 electronic stabilization system and a full suite of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Living Pilot’s ‘vision’ is achieved through five cameras, three millimeter-wave radars and twelve ultrasonic sensors. With an upcoming software update, an additional facial recognition camera in the cabin will be able to identify driver fatigue and will prompt the driver to pull over and rest if detected.
Build quality is a key element of WM Motor’s safety considerations. A high-strength steel frame protects the battery modules and a reserve buffer zone prevents undercarriage intrusion, the EX6 Plus’ battery pack and battery management systems have been built to the same standard as WM Motor’s flagship EX5, which achieved C-NCAP 5-star crash test certification in 2019.
The EX6 Plus 400 is available to order now in either in-store or online.

Remark: current available seating options do not include the 6-seater variant. Official release will coincide with the 2020 Beijing Auto Show this year.
